What is Knowledge? 

Knowledge is a mix of texts, values, numbers and contextual information and expert opinions that provide a framework for evaluating and incorporating new experiences and information. Knowledge organized and applied in the mind of knowers. It stored in individual minds Knowledge is a unique word and made up of two key factors i.e. (data + information). Data is un-arranged   symbol, text and values. which have no meaning itself alone, and Information is a raw material about facts, figures and values and when we arrange these facts and figures and information in a sequence and give meanings itself, it become knowledge. 


Type of Knowledge

Knowledge has following types 

  • Explicit Knowledge
  • Implicit Knowledge
  • Tacit Knowledge

Explicit Knowledge: Knowledge that is easy to manage, describe, articulate, write down, and share, for example knowledge in books, literature, movies, dramas and news channels. 

Implicit Knowledge: This is a application of explicit knowledge or knowledge that is easily transferable from one place to another place. For example, job related skills that are easily transfer from one job to another job. 

Tacit Knowledge: The knowledge which obtained through personal experiences, knowledge that is in a individual minds and that is not easily transferred from one individual to other. Perception, believes, values, technical skills and conceptual skills are example of Tacit Knowledge. 
Knowledge is created by the combination of both Explicit and Tacit Knowledge, because through Tacit Knowledge Explicit knowledge created, store, share and transferred from one mind to other mind, one place to other place and from one specific job to other job. Without any one them, knowledge never created, manage and share. Remember, Knowledge creation process is a shared context of individual thinking, perception, values and personal experiences. So, never underestimate any one factor while you are creating and managing knowledge in the organization as well as in your daily lives.
